DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL

I attended CSI when they first opened in Gurnee,IL. I was going to a community college for Human Services but I wanted to get a certification in Business Administration just to infuse myself in the office field until I finished my degree.

Prior to signing up for CSI. I asked the "advisor"..was the school accredited and will my credits be transferrable? They "advisor" (using that term loosely) told me yes that my credits would be transferable.

Unfortunately, once I decided to finish my degree at my previous school. None of the credits were transferable.

I ATTENDED IN 2013 AND GRADUATED FROM THE 8 MONTH PROGRAM FOR HEALTHCARE. THEY NEVER HELPED ME WITH JOB PLACEMENT, THE TEACHERS WEREN'T EVEN CERTIFIED TO TEACH.

i AM IN DEBT 11,000 WITH NOTHING TO SHOW. FOR IT, THE DIPLOMA IS NOT REAL SO I CAN'T GET A JOB IN THE FIELD. NO ONE IN MY CLASS HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK IN THE FIELD THEY GOT THEIR DIPLOMA IN.

THEY ARE FRAUDULENT AND LIARS. MY CAMPUS ALSO CLOSED SHORTLY AFTER SO I COULDN'T SPEAK WITH ANY ONE ABOUT THIS.

I agree. Please contact Lisa Madigan's office regarding this matter.

I believe the more people she hears from that attended that school.

The better chance we will have getting heard. The school is a scam and put a lot of people in loan debt!

This was a horrible experience .They took advantage of students planted false hope and misrepresented themselves . I see also that the trickery and disregard for human life continues even in this thread as they are continuing to comment from the facility as if they are anonymous commentators.

These people are con artist liars and the fraudulent behavior they engage in is dispicable. Everyone here who experienced their villainous practices you need a lawyer sue their a,, and you will win I claim it ....

Attended In 2012 graduated in 2013. Knew something was up with the school when they let me start BEFORE my financial aid even got back.

I started applying to jobs in 2013 NOTHING, even one employer said they didn't consider CSI a real school. It's 2017 STILL NOTHING. We shouldn't be responsible to pay the loans back honestly. I keep in contact with half my class and they don't have jobs either.

A waste of time and money.

I have been trying to file a lawsuit and have not paid back any money just keeping getting it deferred of course. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL!

Stafford and Sallie Mae loans...

Had a negative experience with COMPUTER SYSTEMS INSTITUTE. Graduated in 2008-09 and was never able to gain employment.

I don't think anyone in my class was ever able to gain employment In the field was studied. I was applying for medical assistance and was told it was the medical assistance course. After most of us were accepted into this course we were granted loans we found out that it was not a medical assistance course but medical billing and coding.

most of us now have Federal Student Loans,

Stafford Loans, etc. I don't think we should be responsible for the loans considering we were never able to establish employment..

I went to this same school twice. The first time i attended was for their business course i graduated and wad waiting on them to find me a job that didn't happen i had a BPA of 3.76 so i just knew i was a shoe-in for them finding me a job.

But that was not the case instead i had to file for a deferment because i didn't have a job yet. So i received a letter and emaol stating that i am eligible for a scholarship and it was for 5,000 so i went back because i couldn't use it for any other school but there's. So i went back for billing and coding finished that and still no job. Now all of my certifications has expired and i owes *** near $30.000 in student loans.

I have no job and three certificate i just sit and look at and shake my head. I wish i would have made better choices.

I actually feel that i shouldn't owe anything because of their poor business ethics. The whole two terms i attended we had three different Deans, a multiple of different teachers and we actually taught ourselves cause that's what we had to do.

If you are looking for a system for your business, never use this system. It is only designed for warehouse and distribution if thats all you need its fine but if you want anything else you need your system to do to match your business, forget it, you will be abused if you ask for anything relating to retail pos or anything else in that area. The compilers of this program seems ok first up but dont dare ask for anything in particular as he is arrogant and has no idea on point of sale. Do yourself a favour and stay clear of this system. It surprises me how people without any knowledge of the retail industry think they can set up and offer on the open market a system to suit retail needs, that is absolute rubbish. The creater of this program should stay behind closed doors and never be let out in the public to offer his services. So no matter how long you have been in business this guy thinks he knows everything and if you dare to disagree with what his system offers,be ready for him to abuse you and cut you down. Take advice from someone in the retail industry some 40 years, dont with this system ever

I went to this school in the downtown location a couple years ago. The advisor kept pressuring me to sign up by making me feel like I was a failure if I didn't follow through with attending. I only attended half a program because it was then that I knew something was fishy.

To get there, I walked three blocks, took a bus and a train so I had a choice to either get there half hour early or be a half hour late everyday. If I was late I had to stay late because they stressed that it was like a job which was understandable. However I had a full time job that I had to get to (without transportation) to pay for my transportation and make my extremely high payments since my Financial aid only covered less than half of tuition due to me not being white and without children. So I wasn't able to leave a half hour early to get to my job. I left a half hour early for every module but it all of a sudden became an issue in my forth and final one. They actually wouldn't let me go on to the fifth one despite my almost perfect grade.

The final nail in the coffin was when my mom got sick being admitted to a hospital and I was told that I couldn't be excused and that if I took a week off I would be "held back" again.

This school (if that's what you can call it) was the biggest mistake I made. There has to be a way to get the loans forgiven in light of all the issues this school has.

This College told me as soon as I graduated they would help with placing me with a job better yet a Career. I graduated with a gpa of 3.8. Its sad because my CMA and other Certification has expired and i never got to use them. I feel someone should be in trouble for false advertisement.

It's your responsibility to keep your certification up to date. I still keep my CDL class A license active even though I no longer drive.

It's MY responsibility to make sure I keep everything up to date if I want to drive in the future.

We also have a responsibility ourselves to seek employment if we really want it. We can't depend on others to always do it for us, even if they tell us they will help us with job placement ~

Sorry you wasted all that valuable time and money, that's a very hard lesson learned ~

Questionable

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I graduated from 2 programs. They didn't help me find a job. My certifications expired before I got to use them. Management is poor. There were about 5 instructors who REALLY cared about helping me, I would have quit.

Now they are calling me saying I owe money, well they owe me education & a job.

My daughter has a learning disability & they promised to help her; but they didn't. So she dropped out and guess what? They are calling her saying she owes money.

I'm beginning to feel they are committing fraud.

To be fair, no school ever guarantees you a job. Sorry you had to learn that the hard way. Welcome to the 21st century, where Starbucks employees may be more educated than you are.

On a more serious note, if you don't owe the school money, then threaten them with a lawsuit for harassment.

Computer Systems Institute - Program Review from Laporte, Minnesota

I was in the first graduation class of the Elgin campus 2010. The only help I got with job placement was newspaper ads and Craigslist postings and was told to apply.

I passed all my certs had a 3.8 GPA. I went though studying with no electricity in my home to being homeless to stay in this school. I got help from them at all after i graduated. This place is filled with lies and false hope.

Six years later no job as a CCMA certs all expired and im a bartender and my tax refund being taken for a loan that got me no where... i think a class action lawsuit needs to done!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Former employee at CSI. I have to say that they are the worst company to ever work for.

The management there is a BIG JOKE. They are all about making money for the higher up....promote those who kiss *** that don't deserve to be promoted...they treat admissions like dogs...and they do nothing but threaten you and micromanage every move you make. The leads that are give are nothing but jokes as these people aren't looking for school. The leads are targeted to the people that really can't afford school let alone CSI.

Oh but wait, they will find ways to get you to attend and then lie to you that with certifications you'll land your dream career. Lol yea okay right good luck. They don't pay you for your experience or degrees you have to work there. They only care about one thing, getting bodies into the school and making money off the students.

DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO GET RIPPED OFF.

The admissions department will tell you what you want to hear and if you bring up the complaints, be prepared again that they will tell you lies just to get you signed. YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WARNED by an ex employee from admissions.

Computer Systems Institute - School Bus Review from Chicago, Illinois

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I attended Computer System Institute in the suburbs. I was amazed at the distance of travel because I lived 2hours away from the school.

I began in late Nov I slightly pressured to sign up & also not encouraged to seek other schools before signing up. The advisor promised me that the school would always provide running buses as I did not have personal transportation. The advisor assured I would never have to worry about transportation. After four months they canceled the bus without notice.

If it wasn't for the bus driver I wouldn't of known of the bus canceling. CSI informed since I was the only student riding the bus there was no need to keep it and wait possibly 2 months and busses may begin depending on enrollments. The school provided a person for me to car pool with but the student class ended before mine and they would complain about staying any longer than necessary for their class I told the student ID try my best to stay on track with their schedule but was unsure if things would really work out. To continue The professors had different teaching styles and methods that did not blend with my learning method one professor would lecture about outdated material that did not apply to today's relates work field , other professors gave shortcuts or cheating methods to pass exams and learn the material quick while other professors taught strictly from the book with little to dry unclear explenations.

Not to mention they allowed a student to damage my property and failed to do anything. Teachers welcomed disruptions , disrespect and immaturity during lectures. The teacher would even debate with the graduate student over senseless topics during a lecture. I asked them to stop as I would like for class to continue the teacher made an excuse saying that's one of those things when it comes to topics as people agree to disagree.

Going back to damaged property I asked the school to review the camera to see if they could find anything . They said no one was seen destroying property and I could not file a police report without evidence.

however my property was not destroyed as I stepped foot on school grounds. Lastly, The professors will push you to take an exam even if you're not ready and once you fail they pose as helpers and try to comfort you .

Reading all of these reviews especially this one makes me very confused now. I was thinking about going to CSI downtown Chicago for Billing and Coding but very nervous now and don't know what the *** to do

I'm very sorry about your experience with CSI. We have to do the research before we enroll.

Every school you go to have car salesmen. That is their job; sell! Even your local community college will get you. I too want to enroll, but after seeing their 15,500.00 tuition I was floored.

That alone should have given you a red flag to get up and walk out. You are getting certifications, not a degree. Studies show that this positions salary range wouldn't allow you to live, let alone repay the loan; if that is the way you paid. You can get the same certifications else where for Thousands less.

Once you share that knowledge with them that tuition amount magically disappears. Anyone will take you for a ride, if you let them.

Good luck to you.
